I bought some white and yellow T10 leds some time ago, for the side turn signals and park lights.
They didn’t quite work, too narrow pattern and way too blueish. I have a random T10 led on the left and a Osram Blue Cool (gotta check the name) normal filament bulb on the right. Too blue lights can get me a ticket here, so I’m not taking any risks. ๐
After this I wasn’t that interested about using leds, because most of them are cheaply made in china or something, and they’re not white. I’d love to get some decent LEDs if they really were white, but everyone seems to sell the cheap ones.
I was taking the gauge cluster apart for no reason and noticed that the bulbs for the gauge cluster were also T10. Just for fun I tried my extensive collection of leds, and couple of wide angle T10 leds did the trick.
For some reason, the blueish leds I had, looked quite nice
Then I though “why not to change the Chowini’s tacho also”
Well, it didn’t fit like the original one. It seems to be for the earlier AW11 and not for the facelift model.

I’ll try to post as much as possible, but I’m often tired when I get back from the garage and then I just forget to post things or haven’t got much motivation to open my computer… or sometimes we just end up drinking beer, gintonic or vodkarussian with Maladar and Widric and we don’t get anything done. btw, I just ordered $60 worth of LEDs ๐

Ok, I’ll try to write something when I’m putting everything together again, but I think it will take some time. Only tools needed are PH2 screwdriver and a ratchet with extension and 10mm bit, I haven’t tried to change the smaller bulbs behind the warning lights, but it should be possible too. Just have to order some LEDs. ๐ Oh yeah, if I find small LED (T5), which is bright enough, it should be possible to change the backlight for HVAC controls too.
Awesome! Would love to read a write up about how to install the LED’s, there’s a few for SW20’s but I can’t find one for AW11’s ๐
Thanks! ๐ I used six LEDs. Two for turn signals, one for high beams and three for backlight. I had only two wide angle leds, so I had to use one regular. Can’t remember which one it was ๐ I’ll try to write bit more about the LEDs.
